What to include in your letter

What to write about:

  • Ways you are praying for your sponsor child and any words of encouragement.

  • You can share about your family, friends, things you enjoy doing for fun and interests/hobbies.

  • Be sure to consider your sponsor child’s environment and culture. For example, avoid writing about the things you own since your child might have very few possessions.

Sending photos:

  • Photos of you and your family, and even your pets, will be especially treasured.

  • Please be sensitive when choosing photos, as standards of clothing and modesty vary in other countries.

Will I receive a reply?

Our partners will do their best to walk your sponsor child through how to write you a letter in response. Due to the language barrier, letter writing takes extra time, and we can’t guarantee a response. However, our goal is to do what we can to help bridge the gap between you and your sponsor child. You can expect updated pictures and information about your sponsor child at least 1-2 times throughout the year.
